Chief of Staff of Algerian Army Receives Qatari Counterpart

General Said Chaneghriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (PNA) received in audience last week, at NPA’s General Staff headquarters, Lieutenant General Salim Bin Hamad Al-Nabit, Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces, who was on a working visit to Algeria, leading an important military delegation.

The welcoming ceremony began with a salute of the National Flag, followed by military salute presented to the delegation by a military formation, representing the various Forces of PNA, the Algerian Ministry of National Defence reported.

The two parties discussed the security challenges facing the Arab region and the African continent, exchanged views of common interest, and ways of strengthen military cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The meeting was attended by secretary General of Ministry of National Defence, Commanders of Forces, Chiefs of Departments and Central Directors of General staff of PNA and Ministry of National Defence, as well as members of the Qatari delegation.

On this occasion, General Chaneghriha delivered a speech, in which he welcomed the host delegation, before congratulating the Qatari brothers on the perfect organization of the football World Cup, which garnered worldwide admiration and presented an honorable image of the State of Qatar. On this occasion, The General underlined the excellence of the fraternal and multifaceted relations between Algeria and Qatar.

“On this Occasion, I will not fail to present to you and our brothers in the State of Qatar our warmest congratulations for the perfect organization of the 2022 football World Cup, which has won worldwide admiration, as well as for the honorable image that you have given of your country and the achievements recorded, in particular the beautiful infrastructures built in record time, enabling your country a global hub for sports events,” he said.

“Furthermore, I would like to recall the level of excellence that characterizes the fraternal and multifaceted relations between Algeria and Qatar, which encourages our armies to move forward towards the concretization of military cooperation which effectively reflects this exceptional and promising rapprochement between the two brotherly peoples,” General Chaneghriha added.

He further stated that this meeting is an opportunity to review the areas of bilateral military cooperation, which is constantly strengthening, thanks to the common will of the leaders of the two countries to promote it.

“We look forward to this meeting as a new opportunity to review the various areas of bilateral military cooperation ,with continues to strengthen thanks to the interest shown by the leaders of both our countries, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, Supreme Chief of the Armed forces, Minister of National Defense, and His Highness Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Prince of the State of Qatar, and their common desire to further promote it.

“This meeting also reflects our commitment to increase exchanges of visits between our two armies, as expressed during the successful visit I made to the brotherly country of Qatar in March 2022, to take part in the 7th edition of the International Naval Defense Exhibition and Conference “DIMDEX-2022”, where we were able to highlight the sense of friendship and the feelings of brotherhood , and also the desire to open promising horizons for our military cooperation,” he concluded.

For his part, Lieutenant General, Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces, expressed his joy at being in Algeria, and welcomed the solidarity of the fraternal relations which bind the two countries, reflected by the level of military cooperation between their respective armies, in the various fields.

At the end of this meeting, the two parties exchanged symbolic gifts, before Lieutenant General Salem Bin-Hamad Bin Aqeel EL-Nabit signed the Guest Book of the General Staff of PNA.
