Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZ) in collaboration with Dubai Police has opened a new police office to enhance security environment in the free zone.
The new police office will have personnel to deal with traffic incidents, cargo issues and operation room for any emergency. All sections are now operational except for the operations room, which will function by the end of 2009.
“Security environment is the backbone of any successful business operation,” Dr Mohammed Al Zarouni, director general of the Freezone. “It is essential to create secured ambience for the clients to operate peacefully.”
“Dubai Airport Freezone emphasizes security in all aspects of its operations and seek the same for its customers and employees” he added. “The new police Office will further enhance security services to our tenants by providing extra security at the Freezone.”
“We are in the process of deploying a major project to install a CCTV system at the Freezone, before the end of the current year,” Dr Al Zarouni continued.
“The opening of the office formalises our cooperation with Dubai Police which earlier conducted regular patrols at the Freezone to ensure security.”
Brigadier Ahmed bin Thani, in-charge of Dubai Airports Security at Dubai Police, said the Dubai Police is implementing directives of the Dubai Government in providing better security environment for all businesses based in Dubai and all its residents.
He detailed the role of Dubai Airport Security in creating a safe atmosphere for Dubai which is a gateway to the Gulf.
Mohammed Alhashimi, executive director of corporate support at DAFZ, said: “Our aim is to reduce the number of incidents at the Freezone and the new police office opened here will certainly augment our capabilities in providing security to companies based at the Freezone.”
