Microflown AVISA Signs Partnership Deal with IGG
22.03.2013 UAE
Microflown AVISA signed a partnership with International Golden Group (IGG) during the recent IDEX 2013 Exhibition (Abu Dhabi, 17-21 March 2013).
Both companies are looking forward to introducing Microflown AVISA’s innovative and game changing technology to the United Arab Emirates.
Microflown AVISA is specialized in localizing threats acoustically (such as sniper, explosions etc.) using its worldwide unique broad-banded Acoustic Vector Sensor technology.
The unique “Microflown” sensor elements measure directional acoustic particle velocity, compared to traditional microphones which measure non-directional sound pressure. The technical difference allows the development of small acoustic multi-threat localization systems, which are available for ground based applications since end 2012.
Acoustic Multi-Mission Sensors (AMMS) localize impacts and fire positions or rockets, artillery and mortars. The AMMS are utilized by the Dutch Armed Forces which acquired 3 systems and is the launching customer for this unique technology.
A further Research & Development (R&D) grant of 1 Million EUR has been given to Microflown AVISA by the Dutch MOD (Ministry of Defense) to adapt its technology to be used on vehicles, not only localizing small arms fire and snipers as current acoustic systems in the market.
The broad-banded nature of the patented hardware also allows the localization of RPGs, Rockets, Artillery and Mortars, next to Air vehicles such as fixed wing or rotary wing... manned or unmanned to be ready for future threats.
