Helicopters are gaining significance in the region due to their multi-disciplinary capabilities. Helicopters are being used extensively in emergency transfers, air taxi, construction, offshore, firefighting, search and rescue, military operations, tourism, outdoor advertising, air ambulances and VIP charter services. High-rise building firefighting and rescue is also of great importance particularly in Dubai with its vast number of tall buildings.

Dubai Helishow 2014 will take place on 4-6 November 2014 at the Grand Stand, Meydan Hotel, Meydan Racecourse, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This will be the 6th in the series since its launch in 2004 and is held under the Patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.

Dubai Helishow represents a unique opportunity for the international helicopter community to showcase their products, services and technologies covering the commercial, civil defense and military helicopter sectors.

The Middle East represents an emerging lucrative market for this industry as demonstrated by the success of the 2012 show which was opened by H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansori, the UAE Minister of Economy who was specifically interested in the military products on display.

Delegations attended from Afghanistan, Africa, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, South America, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA in addition to member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council and other Middle East Countries.

Dubai Helishow 2014 will see the expansion of the Homeland Security Show, introduced at 2010 event, with the inclusion of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles alongside armored vehicles and other products and services aimed at protecting a Nation's citizens from external or internal threats. The Air Medical & Rescue sector of the show with its own designated area highlights the evolution and continuing growth within this industry.
