The International Defence Exhibition and Conference LLC (an ADNEC Group company), announced the upcoming launch of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference (UMEX).
Scheduled to run alongside IDEX 2015 on 22-26 February 2015, senior IDEX officials made the announcement to a select group of participants during a briefing session at Eurosatory Exhibition in Paris this past week.
UMEX is designed as an ideal business platform to promote and showcase unmanned systems technology.
“IDEX enjoys a long association with its counterparts at Eurosatory and both recognize the stature of the event and the number of top industry decision makers in attendance. This was the motivation behind making the announcement in Paris and the first public release of information surrounding UMEX will certainly have a sizable impact on the industry. With well over ninety-five per cent of available exhibition space for IDEX 2015 already reserved by exhibitors, UMEX will only continue to generate interest in next year’s marquee event,” IDEX LLC Chief Executive Officer, Saleh Al Marzooqi said.
“The growing sophistication of unmanned systems technology is rapidly defining the modern defence era. In response and in line with the strategy of IDEX to remain at the cutting edge of the global defence industry, the decision was taken to launch UMEX 2015. Without question, this new exhibition will go some way to articulating the potential of unmanned systems whilst at the same, strengthening the positioning of UAE companies who operate within this space,” he added.
In addition to the announcement made by Saleh Al Marzooqi, the event also saw the participation of Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments Co LLC (ADASI) CEO, Mr. Ali Al Yafei, and selected guests and decision makers from the industry.
The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) is the world’s leading joint defence exhibition. IDEX takes place biennially under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and is organised by IDEX LLC (an ADNEC Group Company) in association with the UAE Armed Forces GHQ.
Yet again, IDEX 2015 will feature the third edition of NAVDEX, the maritime security show that was first launched during IDEX 2011, and quickly evolved to become the largest naval defence and maritime security exhibition in the region.
IDEX and NAVDEX demonstrate the latest technology across land, sea and air sectors of defence. It is a unique platform to establish and strengthen relationships with government departments, businesses and armed forces. In 2013 the event attracted 1,112 exhibiting companies and over 80’000 visitors.
IDEX 2015, welcoming Tawazun as “IDEX Strategic Partner”, will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), United Arab Emirates from 22-26 February.
