His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and his accompanying delegation were received on Thursday at 10 Downing Street by the British Prime Minister David Cameron.

They discussed ties of friendship and cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom, as well as topics of mutual interest, UAE’s news agency WAM reported. They also reviewed the historic and deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing cooperation in political, economic, investment and cultural fields.

The two sides emphasized the strong relations between the UAE and the U.K and the keenness of the leadership in the two countries to strengthen them.

The meeting also touched on coordination and consultation on a number of regional issues, including confronting terrorist organizations and the need for more efforts to bring about peace, security and stability in the region.

Sheikh Mohamed and Cameron also exchanged views on the current regional and international developments.

Earlier, Sheikh Mohamed on Thursday held talks with President Abdelaziz Bouteflika of Algeria on the best ways to enhance bilateral ties in social, economic, trade and developmental fields to realize mutual interests of the two countries and their people.

They also discussed issues of common concern and the latest developments in the Arab region. The meeting also stressed the importance of continuous coordination and cooperation in other sectors.

During the talks, which took place at the Presidential Residence in Algiers and were attended by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, President Bouteflika welcomed Sheikh Mohamed and expressed his hope that his visit would help deepen the bilateral ties.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi affirmed that the UAE and Algeria were maintaining strong, progressive fraternal ties aimed at achieving the goals common to both the countries and the whole region.

He said that the UAE is keen to advance bilateral relations and joint action with Algeria in all domains to achieve the aspirations of the two countries for development and progress in economic, social, academic and other sectors.

Sheikh Mohammed and his host took stock of the latest developments in the Arab, regional and international arenas and exchanged views on a variety of issues of common interest.
