BAE Systems is showcasing a wide spectrum of products and high-end technologies for air, land, sea and cyber as it returns at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi (22-26 February).
BAE Systems’ presence at IDEX spans a number of its businesses including a strong focus on advanced solutions and technologies such as the M777, M109 and the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWSTM) laser guided rocket weapons systems, and electronic solutions including the LiteHUD technology for pilotsand the Q-Warrior soldier augmented reality display.
These take their place next to air sector products, including a full size replica and simulator of Eurofighter Typhoon, the advanced swing-role fighter, allowing visitors to understand the flight capabilities of the jet. Additional Typhoon-linked technologies on show include the Striker I Helmet Mounted Display, which will be displayed on the Eurofighter stand. The air sector will also be represented by training and support offerings, specifically around the Hawk Advanced Jet Trainer.
Advanced cyber security technologies from BAE Systems Applied Intelligence form a key part of BAE Systems’ participation at the show. The recently launched IndustrialProtect, a military grade solution aimed at protecting nations’ industrial control systems from cyber attack is a key highlight.
IDEX’s naval-focused partner show, NAVDEX, features products from BAE Systems. The 57mk3 and 40mk4 Naval Gun systems are exhibited at its IDEX stand, whilst the capabilities of the 90 metre OPV and 99 metre Corvette models are present at NAVDEX.
“As a premier regional defence exhibition, IDEX enables us to showcase the breadth of our product and technology offerings together in one place. We’re pleased to return to the show again and to highlight the solutions which are new or have evolved since the last IDEX,” said Ben Bridge, Managing Director, Middle East & Africa for BAE Systems.
“The needs of regional customers are diverse, and our varied exhibition of high-end technologies and support and training solutions showcases BAE Systems’ capability of supporting the requirements of the Gulf region. IDEX gives us the perfect opportunity to showcase these technologies to current and potential customers,” he added.
