His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, discussed Thursday with Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, ways to strengthen fraternal cooperation and strategic relations between the two countries as well as a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
During the meeting attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas of interest so as to achieve the common interests of both countries.
The two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, coordination and consultation, particularly the security challenges that aimed to destabilize the region, violence and extremism as well as acts of terrorist groups.
They stressed the importance of concerted efforts, cooperation and solidarity against the threats of foreign interference that aim at undermining the foundations of stability and security in the Arab region, and the need for a strong and effective platforms for joint Arab action that will confront the sources of threat and eliminate the dangers of extremism and terrorism in the region.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, continues to back Egypt and its people to achieve their aspirations in the stability, development and reconstruction. He referred to vital role of Egypt given its strategic weight in support of Arab causes.
For his part, El-Sisi stressed the depth of relations between the UAE and Egypt, reiterating his country's keenness on strengthening relations with the UAE in the best interest of the two countries.
President El Sisi reviewed the roadmap and the most important and vital development projects achieved so far across Egypt, referring to the government's efforts to attract investments and projects that will develop the national economy. He welcomed UAE investors in Egypt.
He appreciated the position of the UAE in support of Egypt through its contributions to the development in Egypt.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of reaching a political and peaceful solution to the crises taking place in some countries in the region so as to maintain the territorial integrity and sovereignty of these countries. They stressed the importance of concerted international community efforts to end conflicts in the region, which would contribute to establishing security and promoting stability and development.
Among others present were Ali Mohammad Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Crown Prince's Court of Abu Dhabi, and Major General Isa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
Meanwhile, Mohammed bin Nakhira Al Dhaheri, the UAE’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, has said that the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to the Arab Republic of Egypt, comes within the framework of fraternal and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
He added that the UAE's political leadership backs Egypt as the relations between the two countries surpass all traditional frameworks into wider horizons towards unprecedented high levels of joint cooperation, harmony and coordination.
