SRC, Inc. is expanding its commitment to providing border security and force protection solutions to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions. The evolving conflicts in these areas have created a need for increased border, force and critical infrastructure protection measures to ensure the safety of soldiers and civilians alike.
As explained in the US Army’s 2016 posture statement on the CENTCOM area of responsibility, “The convergence of interests, namely the need to counter the threat posed by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and other violent extremist organizations, has afforded a unique opportunity to strengthen ties among nations while contributing to improving stability and security throughout the region. We should do all that we can to support and enable their continued collaboration as we work to enhance our collective capabilities.”
SRC has already begun to play a vital role in bolstering the border security and force protection capabilities of MENA countries by supplying multiple surveillance systems to the region. SRC’s lightweight counter-mortar radar (LCMR) system is currently providing soldiers with 360 degree early warning and counterfire target acquisition capabilities. The SR Hawk™ ground surveillance radar is also being used for persistent surveillance of territorial borders and critical infrastructure perimeters.
Bolstering SRC’s commitment to delivering best-in-class capabilities to the MENA region, the company has hired Asif Moosa as a dedicated MENA account manager. In this newly created role, Moosa will provide business development and strategic support as SRC expands operations in these areas. Moosa is an accomplished business executive with more than 30 years of experience in aerospace and defense and has conducted business in more than 50 countries. As the MENA account manager, he will work closely with SRC’s international business team to identify and capitalize on key growth areas for SRC, while delivering expertise and guidance to potential MENA partners.
“We are very pleased to have a subject matter expert like Asif join our team,” said Paul Tremont, president and CEO of SRC. “He brings a great depth of knowledge about the business landscape in the MENA region that will be key to SRC’s continued international growth.”
To better serve the needs of their partners in the MENA region, SRC has also developed a new full Arabic language website, accessible by visiting www.srcinc.com/ar.
SRC currently offers a portfolio of defense systems that are available to the MENA region: The Aklus Shield® C-Model biological threat monitoring system helps detect and alert people to chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats; the SR Hawk ground surveillance radar, with more than 250 units fielded around the world; and the LCMR counterfire radar, a U.S. military program of record, with almost 1000 units delivered to protect forces from rocket, artillery and mortar attack. These systems will be displayed at IDEX 2017 at booth 03-A04 located within the AUSA Pavilion.
