Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, and Spanish Secretary of State for Defense Angel Olivares Ramirez (photo) have discussed cooperation relations between the two countries.

In a telephone call Tuesday, the two sides also reviewed the latest development of COVID-19 outbreak and the importance of coordinating and unifying efforts to curb its impact.

Al Bowardi and Ramirez also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, Emirates news agency WAM reported.

The two officials further discussed strengthening defense and military cooperation relations between the UAE and Spain and ways to further develop them to serve the mutual interests of both countries.

The UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs and Krasimir Karakachanov, Minister of Defense of Bulgaria also discussed cooperation relations between the two countries.

Al Bowardi and Jeong Kyeong-doo, Minister of National Defense of South Korea, also discussed the efforts of the two friendly countries to confront and limit the impact of the coronavirus pandemic via a telephone call Monday.

The two sides emphasized the importance of enhancing international cooperation and joint work among various countries across the world to confront the virus.

During the telephone call, the two ministers also reviewed the UAE-Korean defense cooperation relations, and a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
