H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended the graduation ceremony of the 18th UAE National Service program cohort (2022-2023).

The ceremony, held at Sweihan Training Centre in Abu Dhabi in the presence of Staff Lieutenant General Engineer Issa Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, commemorated the successful completion of their specialized training, UAE national news agency WAM reported.

During the ceremony, His Highness congratulated the graduates and wished them success in their mission to serve the country, preserve its achievements and promote its interests. He urged them to apply the skills and knowledge learned during the training program to strengthen the capabilities of their respective national institutions.

The ceremony commenced with the UAE national anthem, followed by the recitation of verses from the Quran, after which the graduates took part in military performances which demonstrated their training and commitment to serving the nation.

Brigadier Staff Matar Mohammad Al Kaabi, Commander of the Land Forces Institute, who delivered the opening address, affirmed his pride in the new cohort: “Those who answered the call of duty and joined the 18th cohort of the UAE National Service program have proved their competence and commitment to the training. It has further upskilled their talents, enhancing their career and service to the country across all fields and specialties.”

A number of senior officers and officials from the UAE Ministry of Defense, as well as families of the graduates, attended the ceremony.

For his part, H.H. Sheikh Hamadan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, also attended the graduation ceremony of the 18th cohort of the national military service.

Congratulating the graduates, His Highness highlighted the importance of preparing a powerful military force to protect the nation and preserve its resources and achievements. He said the national military service provides the foundations for achieving readiness and equipping Emirati youth with essential skills to fulfil their responsibilities effectively. As they become the guardians of this nation, these graduates assume a pivotal role in the country’s continuous development journey, Sheikh Hamdan said.

His Highness wished the graduates the best in serving the nation, and urged them to uphold the values of loyalty and belonging while carrying out their duties. Furthermore, he also urged them to strive towards making the UAE a symbol of security and safety.
