On 30 January 2024, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş inaugurated the ASELSAN UAE Office in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The opening ceremony was attended by President of Defense Industries Presidency Haluk Görgün, ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol, HAVELSAN General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar, ROKETSAN General Manager Murat İkinci and other guests.

Kurtulmuş was briefed by Haluk Görgün about the work of the office and investments in the defense industry, local media reported.

Numan Kurtulmuş used the following statements in his post from his X account: “I believe that the ASELSAN UAE Office, which we opened in the United Arab Emirates, will both strengthen the friendship between the two countries and open new doors in the journey of growth and success of our defense industry with technology transfer.”

“We are proud that our national defense industry continues on its way with firm steps forward with the vision of the Century of Türkiye by combining technological innovations and superior quality,” he added.

In the post made from ASELSAN’s X account, the following statements were included:

“Within the scope of ASELSAN's cooperation in high technologies with friendly and allied countries and its export-oriented growth strategy, another important step has been taken towards the Middle East and the Gulf region.”

“Our ASELSAN UAE Office, which will meet the needs of our current and potential users in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Gulf region, was opened with the participation of our Speaker of the Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş, Abu Dhabi Ambassador Tugay Tunçer and President of Defense Industries Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün.”
