Saudi Minister of Interior Pays Official Visit to Pakistan

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Minister of Interior, arrived in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Monday on an official visit.

At Noor Khan Airbase, Prince Abdulaziz was received by Pakistani Minister of Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad; Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki; Special Representative to Pakistan’s Prime Minister on Religious Harmony and the Middle East and Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council Sheikh Tahir Ashrafi; and a number of senior officials from the Pakistani Ministry of Interior.

Upon his arrival, the Saudi Minister was received by Pakistani President Dr. Arif Alvi at the Presidential Palace (photo), the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, to the Pakistani President and their best wishes of progress and prosperity to the government and people of Pakistan.

During the reception, the two sides discussed the bilateral ties and security cooperation between the two countries.

The reception was attended by Pakistani Minister of Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad, senior Pakistani officials, and Prince Abdulaziz’s accompanying delegation.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also met the Saudi Interior Minister and expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom for its “steadfast support to Pakistan, especially in challenging times”, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Furthermore, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz met with Pakistani Minister of Interior Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed means to enhance joint security cooperation, in addition to discussing other issues of common interest.

Furthermore, the Saudi Minister of Interior, met in Rawalpindi Tuesday with Commander of the Pakistani Army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

During the meeting, a number of issues of common interest were discussed.
