Saudia Hosts 56th Annual General Meeting of Arab Air Carriers’ Organization

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser (photo), who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Arabian Airlines Corporation, sponsored Monday the works of the 56th Annual General Meeting of the Arab Air Carriers’ Organization (AACO), which is hosted by Saudia.

Taking place in the Saudi Capital Riyadh from 30 October to 01 November, the meeting is scheduled to discuss many issues that contribute to strengthening the aviation sector in the region, most notably the paths of digital transformation and sustainability, in addition to aligning all initiatives with the goals of international organizations in the aviation industry.

The event was attended by the Director General of Saudia Group and the Chairman of the Arab Air Carriers Organization's Executive Committee, Engr. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar; President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej; and AACO Secretary General Abdul Wahab Teffaha, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

In a key speech, Minister Al-Jasser explained that the aviation sector in the Kingdom, with the support of the wise leadership, is witnessing an unprecedented jump in terms of growth rates and performance since the launch of National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS) by HRH the Crown Prince.

Al-Jasser affirmed his support for AACO’s projects, especially those related to digital transformation, sustainability and achieving the highest safety standards to ensure safe flight that enriches the guests’ experience and fulfills their aspirations.

A panel of several CEOs will discuss the strategic issues faced by the air transport industry. Additionally, a closed session for AACO members will also be held to discuss and decide on administrative, financial, and strategic issues related to AACO’s work, Saudia said in a statement.
