The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Industrial Development Center (NIDC), AHQ Group and Embraer signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to discuss a joint strategy to develop the local aerospace ecosystem. The signing ceremony was made at the Future Aviation Forum held in Riyadh last week (20-22 May).

The agreement focuses on the adoption of Embraer aircraft by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as on potential technological cooperation, supply chain and human capital development between the organizations to achieve excellence in products and services, evaluate industrial capabilities and new business opportunities.

Embraer has been working with local companies and the Saudi government to adopt its portfolio and to set industrial collaboration in line with the country's strategic plan Vision 2030. This MoU is another important milestone to reinforce the collaboration between Embraer and Saudi Arabia’s growing aerospace cluster.

NIDC has been working to facilitate the growth and diversification of the Kingdom’s manufacturing and industrial base through, among other activities, fostering partnerships between local Kingdom entities and international manufacturers to grow and diversify the Saudi economy.

Also as part of the agreement, Embraer and AHQ agree to further review the great potential of the E2 family to be the aircraft of choice for a new airline project in the region.

Embraer is a global aerospace company headquartered in Brazil. It manufactures aircraft for Commercial and Executive aviation, Defense & Security, and Agricultural customers. The company also provides after-sales services & support through a worldwide network of wholly owned entities and authorized agents.

Since it was founded in 1969, Embraer has delivered more than 8,000 aircraft. On average, about every 10 seconds an aircraft manufactured by Embraer takes off somewhere in the world, transporting over 145 million passengers a year.

Embraer is the leading manufacturer of commercial jets up to 150 seats and is the main exporter of high value-added goods in Brazil. The company maintains industrial units, offices, service and parts distribution centers across the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

Meanwhile, Eve Air Mobility and Saudia Technic, the leading MRO service provider in the Middle East, have announced during the third edition of the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, the signature of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to explore the potential demand of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) activities for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in the region.

The agreement includes eVTOL MRO training and the evaluation of the infrastructure requirements and processes for the potential reassembly of Eve’s eVTOL in Saudi Arabia.

Last year, Eve announced the location of its first eVTOL production facility in Taubaté, Brazil. Currently, the company is assembling its first full-scale eVTOL prototype, which will be followed by a comprehensive test campaign. With letters of intent for nearly 3,000 eVTOLs, Eve is poised to significantly impact the advanced air mobility industry globally.

In addition to the eVTOL development, Eve has also been developing several solutions to support its customers from Day 1, from services and support to network optimisation with Vector, Eve’s Urban Air Traffic Management (Urban ATM) software designed to safely address the unique air traffic and network management challenges of current and future Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) operations, focusing on fleet and vertiport operators, and future service providers for AAM, including Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs).

Eve is dedicated to accelerating the Advanced Air Mobility ecosystem. Benefitting from a start-up mindset, backed by Embraer S.A.’s more than 50-year history of aerospace expertise, and with a singular focus, Eve is taking a holistic approach to progressing the AAM ecosystem, with an advanced eVTOL project, comprehensive global services and support network and a unique air traffic management solution.
