The Saudi-Egyptian Military Committee held its 10th meeting in Cairo on Tuesday, chaired by Chief of Saudi General Staff General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili and Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Fathy Khalifa.

During the meeting, they reviewed relations between the two countries, ways to enhance them in the defense field, and a number of topics of mutual interest, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

During the conclusion of the joint committee meeting, discussions revolved around military cooperation activities and fields between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Gharib Abdel Hafez, spokesperson for the Egyptian Armed Forces, said in a statement on Wednesday.

The session also focused on the exchange of scientific and training expertise in various military domains, the statement added.

Khalifa and Ruwaili discussed numerous topics concerning the distinguished military cooperation relations between the Armed Forces of both nations across various sectors, the spokesperson added.

Khalifa expressed gratitude for Egypt’s steadfast ties with Saudi Arabia, emphasizing their shared visions on collaborative plans intended to enhance the capabilities of their Armed Forces.

Ruwaili lauded Egypt’s significant regional role in fostering security and stability in the Middle East, expressing his hope for expanded military collaboration between the two countries.

Several Commanders from the Egyptian and Saudi armed forces attended the meeting between Khalifa and Ruwaili, as well as the closing session of the joint committee meeting.

On Wednesday, Lieutenant General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), also received Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al Ruwaili, Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces, upon his arrival in the Kingdom, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
