Aramex, the Dubai-based logistics and transportation solutions provider, said it has won a 2-year contract from the Dutch Ministry of Defense to provide ground transportation services for its military across Europe.
Under the agreement, Aramex will handle the regular movement of shipments both inbound and outbound from the Netherlands to locations across the EU, Norway, Switzerland, and Turkey.
"The contract with the Dutch Military is in line with our strategic focus on offering integrated solutions to the European market and establishing long-term relationships with key partners throughout the region," said General Manager of Aramex Netherlands, Marco Klaassen.
"This partnership with a renowned governmental body, such as the Dutch Military, further strengthens our capabilities and experience in addressing the needs of this sector," he noted.
The initial agreement will continue for 2 years effective July 2010 and may be extended to 2014, Klaassen said.
