Dipl.-Volkswirt Rainer Ott, long-standing member of the Diehl Executive Board and President of the Diehl Aerosystems Corporate Division Board, will turn 64 next year. Mr. Ott will leave Diehl on September 30, 2010, in line with his life planning, to go into well-deserved retirement, and will continue to advise Diehl and the Corporate Division Aerosystems.
He will be succeeded by Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Rainer von Borstel (50). Mr. von Borstel held a leading position with Airbus for many years – from 1985 to 2008 – focusing on the sectors of cabin, cargo compartment as well as the associated systems. He was last responsible for the aviation sector of EDAG. Mr. von Borstel will start working as a member of the Diehl Executive Board on April 1, 2010.
In recent years, Mr. Ott’s long-standing and highly successful work at Diehl was shaped especially by the establishment of the aviation division and the further expansion of the close ties to our French partner Thales. Mr. Ott has played a crucial role in the expansion of our aviation business and the acquisition of the Laupheim Airbus plant that today is Diehl Aircabin.
