As part of his inspection visits to the different components of People’s National Army (PNA) during the holy month of Ramadan, General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of PNA Staff, paid a working and inspection visit to the headquarters of the Republican Guard Command on Saturday 23 March 2024.

After the welcoming ceremony at the entrance to the headquarters of the Republican Guard Command, the General held a meeting with the personnel of the Republican Guard, where he gave an orientation speech followed by the personnel of the units under this Command via videoconference.

He emphasised the importance that the High Command of People’s National Army attaches to the Command of the Republican Guard, by working to bring together all the factors and conditions necessary for the development of this Arm, the Algerian Ministry of National Defence said in a statement.

“Within the People’s National Army, we have ensured to raise the Republican Guard Arm to the rank of elite, whose performance is worthy of the nobility of the missions entrusted to it, and to raise it to the ranks of excellence,” General Shanegriha said.

“With this in mind, all the factors and conditions necessary for the development of this Arm have been brought together, in such a way as to be in perfect harmony with the sensitivity and vital nature of the missions assigned, and which correspond to our firm desire to make this Command and its personnel a model to follow, in several respects, in terms of training, discipline and professional performance,” he noted.

He further stressed that the high sense of responsibility shown by Algeria's devoted sons is the fundamental guarantee of the security immunity our country enjoys today.

“Thus, it is incumbent upon the executives and staff of the Republican Guard to demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, preparation and discipline, to live up to the trust placed in them, to remain fully faithful to the message of the valiant Chouhada and to always favour the supreme interest of the Nation,” he added.

“The strong sense of supreme national interest shown by Algeria’s devoted sons and daughters has been the main motivation that has given them the strength they need to ensure that today, under the leadership and support of the President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, our country has acquired all this security immunity, and all this level of serenity, safety and stability, despite the difficult times the world is going through today, both regionally and internationally,” he concluded.

At the end, General Chanegriha followed the interventions of the Republican Guard Command staff, and listened at length to their concerns and suggestions, taking care to highlight the diligent efforts they are deploying at all levels, before giving those present a set of general instructions and guidance.

Earlier last week, General Chanegriha also visited on Tuesday 19 March the Naval Forces Command, where he held a meeting with executives and staff.

After a welcome ceremony, given by Major General Mahfoudh Benmadah, Commander of the Naval Forces, the General held a meeting with the executives and staff of the Naval Forces Command, during which he delivered an orientation address broadcast to all schools and units of the Naval Forces via videoconference.

The General of the Army expressed his wishes to the audience on the occasion of Victory Day corresponding to 19th March of each year, inviting them to reflect in the memory of all the martyrs of Algeria. He urged personnel to continue efforts to develop and modernize the combat capabilities of the Naval Forces:
