US-Kuwait Military Joint Cooperation Committee Holds Regular Meeting

The US-Kuwait Military Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) held its regular meeting on Monday at the Armed Forces’ operations and plans authority.

The meeting was headed by the Director of Military Cooperation, Brigadier General Fahad Al-Otaibi, and a senior figure from the US Army, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Defense, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

The objective of these meetings is to assess joint efforts, examine findings, and explore avenues for enhancing bilateral relations across diverse military domains, the statement added.

In another development, the head of Kuwait’s mission to the European Union, Ambassador Nawaf Al-Anzi, said that the fourth round of meetings of senior officials between Kuwait and the EU was held in Brussels on Monday under the chairmanship of Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Ambassador Sadiq Marafi. They discussed various issues, including economic diversification, security cooperation, and counter-terrorism.

Ambassador Al-Enezi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the working groups at the meeting included representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Interior, Health, and Education, as well as the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, the National Cyber Security Authority, the Environment Public Authority, and the Kuwait Fund for Economic Development.

He added that the meeting concluded with some recommendations in the interest of joint relations between Kuwait and the European Union, including the need to continue coordination and to intensify periodic communication between the two sides in order to strengthen the Kuwait partnership.

Both sides agreed to hold the fifth round of meetings of senior officials between the two sides in Kuwait next year.
