Qatar’s Chief-of-Staff Visits Oman’s Maritime Security Center

Lt. General (Pilot) Ghanem Shaheen Al Ghanim, Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces in the State of Qatar and his accompanying delegation visited the Maritime Security Center (MSC) in Muscat, Oman Thursday.

During the visit, the Qatari military official was accompanied by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Ra’eesi, Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF).

Upon their arrival at the MSC, they were received by Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and a number of Senior SAF Officers, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

The Qatari Armed Forces Chief toured the center's facilities, as he viewed its latest equipment and technologies.

He was also briefed on the tactical roles and tasks carried out by the center within its national duties, as it coordinates with relevant authorities in search and rescue missions and the safety of the maritime environment.

On Wednesday, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik al-Said, Oman’s Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs received in his office at Al Murtafa’a Camp the visiting Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces in the State of Qatar.

During the meeting, Sayyid Shihab welcomed the guest and his accompanying delegation. The meeting reviewed the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and exchanged views on several matters of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis al-Raisi, Chief-of- Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF).

Meanwhile, an official session of talks was held at SAF headquarters Wednesday between the Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF) and the Chief-of- Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces.

The session reviewed fields of the existing military cooperation between the two countries’ ministries of defense and means of enhancing these fields. The two sides exchanged points of view and discussed several issues of joint interest that serve the two brotherly countries.

Lastly, General Sultan Mohammed al-Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office also received at his office Wednesday Lt. General (Pilot) Ghanim Shaheen al-Ghanim, Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces in the State of Qatar.

The meeting reviewed the strong, fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, and fields of joint cooperation. The two sides exchanged conversations on regional issues of mutual interest.

The Qatari guest commended the sturdy relations binding the Sultanate with Qatar.

The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces in the State of Qatar and his accompanying delegation arrived to Muscat Tuesday on an official several-day visit. The Qatari military official was received at A’Seeb Air Base by the Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), Senior SAF Officers and the Military Attaché at the Qatari Embassy in Muscat.

The Qatari Chief-of-Staff and his accompanying delegation left Muscat Thursday. They were seen off by Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis al-Raisi, Chief-of-Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad al-Ghafri, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), some Senior SAF Officers, and the Military Attaché at the Qatari Embassy in Muscat.
