Qatar’s Defense Minister Meets Malaysian Prime Minister

Qatar’s Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah met, on Tuesday, with Malaysian Prime Minister Mohammed Najib Abdul Razaq, on the sidelines of the International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2017 (LIMA’17) which started in Langkawi, Malaysia earlier this week.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the military field and means of enhancing and developing them, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

Earlier this week, Qatar’s Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, met in Kuala Lumpur with Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin bin Tun Hussein.

The meeting witnessed the signing of a letter of intent between the Ministries of Defense in the two countries, according to QNA.

Talks during the meeting dealt with a number of issues of common interest and means of enhancing them, especially military fields.

LIMA’17 is taking place from 21 to 25 March 2017 at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC) in Langkawi, Malaysia.

Held biennially since 1991, LIMA’17 is jointly organized by the Malaysia Ministry of Defense and EN Projects (M) Sdn Bhd.
