Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces HE Staff Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit met with Chief of Staff of the French Army General Thierry Burkhard and his accompanying delegation in Doha on Monday.

During the meeting, they discussed topics of mutual interest and ways to enhance them, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

In addition, both sides signed the minutes of the 25th meeting of the Qatari-French joint higher committee held annually within the framework of the existing strategic partnership between the two nations.

In another development, the Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun and the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, inaugurated last week a lecture hall that was equipped with funding from the French authorities.

The ceremony took place in the Army Command building in the presence of several Command Officers, the Lebanese Army said in a statement.

General Aoun expressed his gratitude to the French authorities for this initiative, considering it as part of the assistance that contributes to enhancing the capabilities of the institution.

For his part, the French Ambassador emphasized his country’s continuous support for the Army, which continues to make sacrifices for the stability of Lebanon.
