Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defense Affairs, today received Senator Collor Fernando, Chairman of the Foreign Relations and National Defense Committee in the Brazilian Senate, and his accompanying delegation, UAE national news agency WAM reported.
Minister Al Bowardi welcomed the guest and praised the friendly relations between the UAE and Brazil.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of boosting cooperation in various fields, especially in the defense sector, as well as exchanging views on issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was attended by the Brazilian Ambassador to the UAE, Fernando Luis Limos Iqerga, and senior officers and officials of the Ministry of Defense.
Meanwhile, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who is currently on an official visit to Japan, has met with the Japanese Minister of Defense Itsunori Onodera in Tokyo.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed mutual cooperation and friendship relations, especially in the military and defense fields. They also exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
Sheikh Abdullah re-affirmed the deep relations between the UAE and Japan and their keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields.
The Japanese Minister, in turn, welcomed Sheikh Abdullah’s visit, reiterating its importance in strengthening cooperation between the two countries. He also praised the UAE’s role and its initiatives to support the international community’s efforts in bringing stability and peace worldwide.
The meeting was attended by UAE Ambassador to Japan Khaled Amran Al Ameri.
