During the recent Bahrain International Air Show 2014 (BIAS; 16-18 January), and under the umbrella of the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries (SSM), Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI)'s “T129 ATAK” Advanced Attack and Tactical Reconnaissance Helicopter
performed a flight demonstration on the first day of the exhibition.
The flight demonstration drew attention by many high level executives as well as the Royal Prince of Bahrain HRH Sheikh Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
T129 ATAK is the result of the integration of nationally developed high-tech avionic equipment and weapon systems on to the combat proven A129 airframe, with upgraded engines, transmission and rotor blades. Optimized for "hot & high" environments, T129 is the most efficient Attack Helicopter in its class.
Meanwhile, the President of Romania H.E. Traian Băsescu, who was in Ankara as the official guest of President H.E. Abdullah Gül, visited the facilities of Turkey's center of aerospace Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI) on February 06, 2014.
Turkish Ambassador to Bucharest H.E. Ömür Şölendil, Romanian Ambassador to Ankara H.E. Radu Onofrei and Undersecretary for Defense Industries Murad Bayar accompanied the President during his visit to TAI.
Lastly, the President of Gambia H.E. Yahya Jammeh also visited the facilities of Turkey's center of aerospace Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI) on February 11, 2014.
Turkish Ambassador to Gambia Ergin Soner and Charge d'Affaires of Gambia Embassy Sering Modou Njie accompanied the delegation.
After being informed by TAI's President & CEO Muharrem Dörtkaşlı regarding the capabilities and ongoing programs of the company, both Presidents and their delegations toured TAI's facilities.
