His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of Bahrain Armed Forces, received at Safriya Palace Wednesday National Guard Commander, General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, and senior officers, who extended to him sincere congratulations on the 25th anniversary of the National Guard.

HM the King expressed thanks and appreciation to the National Guard Commander for his role in developing the National Guard, praising the dedicated efforts of the National Guard personnel in defending the national sovereignty, security, stability and achievements.

HM the King asked the National Guard Commander to convey his greetings and best wishes of continued success to the National Guard personnel, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The National Guard Commander expressed deepest thanks and gratitude to HM the King for his valuable directives and tremendous support to the National Guard and its affiliates.

Separately, the National Guard Commander patronized Wednesday the Military Marathon and Pistol & Rifle Shooting contest conclusion ceremony that is coinciding with the National Guard’s 25th establishment anniversary.

The championship resulted in the victory of the Special Operations Unit, which completed the contest in 2:50:14.

The National Guard Commander awarded the Military Service Medal-First Class to Special Operations Unit Head Lieutenant-Colonel His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Military Service Medal-Second Class to a number of officers for their dedication to their military duty, in an implementation to the Royal order issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

He distributed three cups for winners of three weapons shooting and individual shooting contests and military marathon contest.

The National Guard Commander expressed his pride in the honorable achievements of the National Guard members in their duties and sports and stressed that it is a translation of the Royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander.
