Seven Emirati Students to Visit Airbus Training Center

Airbus and Al Bayt Mitwahid Association announced the names of seven UAE students, selected to be part of the inaugural Future Scientists program launched with the support of the Ministry of Education and Abu Dhabi Education Council.

The seven students, selected to represent the UAE’s seven emirates, are: Suhail Raeesi, Saoud Morad, Fatmah Al Shehhi, Moza Al Ali, Maryam Al Saffar, Maryam Al Mansoori, Mohammed Al Ameri will visit the Airbus Training Centre in Toulouse, France from 2nd-8th July 2017.

Over the six days, the students will get an opportunity to train under aerospace experts. Through an engaging, hands-on session, they will get a chance to learn about best industry practices, real-life aerospace challenges and receive expert advice on how they could build a career within the aerospace industry.

Following the classroom sessions, the students will visit Airbus’ final assembly lines and witness the manufacturing process behind the A320, the A380 and the all-new A350 XWB jetliner.

Commenting on the students’ upcoming visit, Saif Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Al Bayt Mitwahid Association, said: “We are pleased to see the drive to embrace new learning opportunities among the students. They are our future and it is this focus and passion that will help the UAE to progress and take its aerospace industry to the next level. Through the Future Scientist program, we hope to reach more UAE students in the coming years and give them a platform to learn and train among the best in the aerospace sector.”

Future Scientist is a joint program from Airbus and Al Bayt Mitwahid and seeks to encourage bright Emirati students to discover, explore and choose a career path within the aerospace industry. A memorandum of understanding, MOU, was signed by Saif Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Al Bayt Mitwahid Associations and Mikail Houari, President, Airbus Africa and Middle East in February 2017, underlining the program vision and objectives.

As the UAE’s long-term partner in progress, we are excited to share our passion for the aerospace sector. We hope to inspire the Emirati youth through the Future Scientists program, and build a world-class talent pool that the global aerospace industry can ultimately benefit from.”

Future Scientists will provide up to 21 Emirati high-school students the opportunity to discover the aeronautics industry over a period of three years. At the end of the program, the students will receive an internship at Airbus or its industry partners’ facilities in the UAE and an opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals.
