Kuwait Launches “Bachelor of Fire Engineering Technology” Academic Program

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah said that the Bachelor of Fire Engineering Technology academic program will raise the efficiency of firefighters in the performance of their work and keep pace with modern international specialized study programs in this regard.

This came in a statement by Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef made to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of his attendance at the signing of a strategic partnership cooperation agreement between the Kuwait Fire Force (KFF) and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) to launch an academic program called “Bachelor of Fire Engineering Technology.”

Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef explained that the members of KFF will be able to benefit from this program through cooperation with PAAET instead of sending them to the United States of America to study it, expressing his pride and appreciation for the role played by firefighters in serving the homeland.

The Head of the Kuwait Fire Force, Major General Khalid Fahad, said in a similar statement to KUNA that the agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between government agencies, improve job performance, and maintain the quality of education and the quality of educational outputs for members of the Kuwait Fire Force. Major General Fahad added that the students will study at the college because of the expertise and skills of its educational staff members in engineering and scientific studies.

He said that practical applications during the study will be in the Training Department of the Kuwait Fire Force, pointing out that the specialty of Fire Engineering Technology is considered one of a rare program in the region. He stressed that the desired objectives of the educational program are to keep abreast of the latest achievements in fire science and engineering and the development of the human element.

For his part, the Director General of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, Dr. Hassan Al-Fajjam, confirmed to KUNA that the Authority seeks to extend bridges of cooperation and integration with various government agencies through the development of programs and specialties for high school graduates, which will be available in the future. Al-Fajjam expressed thanks and praise for the cooperation and support given by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah in making the agreement a success.

The signing of the agreement was witnessed by the Dean of the Faculty of Technological Studies at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hayyan, and a number of officials.
