Bell Textron Inc. announced the signing of a purchase agreement with the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) for new aircraft. This acquisition is to develop and enhance RAFO’s capabilities.
“As part of development and modernization plans, and to strengthen the abilities and capabilities of the Royal Air Force of Oman, the RAFO signed a contract with the American company (Bell Textron) to purchase a number of helicopters,” the Ministry of Defence of Oman said in a statement.
“The acquisition of these aircraft is part of enhance the level of performance and efficiency of the Royal Air Force of Oman, and to meet the requirements of modernization and development, within the framework of the comprehensive development process witnessed by the Sultanate of Oman in this prosperous era of His Majesty the Supreme Commander, may God protect him,” the statement added.
“The selection of this aircraft is due to its flexibility and effective performance that suits the needs of the Royal Air Force of Oman, and because it will constitute another addition to serve the national tasks and duties undertaken by the weapon, in both operational or developmental, especially those related to community service,” the statement concluded.
“The Royal Air Force of Oman’s addition of this helicopter to the fleet serves as a testament to its search-and-rescue capabilities. The aircraft is an easily configurable platform that provides vital support to military forces,” said the Chief Commercial Officer of Bell Textron Inc.
