Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. formally announced Qatar Airways as the launch customer for Gulfstream’s recently introduced flagship, the Gulfstream G700TM, for its charter service, Qatar Executive. The new aircraft brings an unprecedented combination of performance, technology and cabin size to Qatar Executive’s fleet.

“Qatar Executive demonstrated their confidence in Gulfstream when they committed as international launch customer for the G500, which is in service with them now alongside the G650ER,” said Mark Burns, President, Gulfstream.

“We are grateful they have chosen to continue growing their Gulfstream fleet with our new flagship G700 and look forward to their customers traveling in the utmost comfort on the largest business jet in the industry,” he added.

Qatar Executive’s latest agreement with Gulfstream is for the purchase of 10 G700 aircraft in addition to their recently announced orders of additional all-new Gulfstream G500TM and high-performing G650ERTM aircraft.

Eleven Gulfstream aircraft are currently in service with Qatar Executive, including six G650ERs and five G500s. The executive charter service is the world’s largest commercial operator of the G650ER and the first commercial charter operator of the G500.

“We are excited to be the launch customer of the G700, the largest business jet in the industry, and are looking forward to the aircraft joining our fleet,” said His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Group CEO of Qatar Airways.

“Qatar Executive’s customers have extremely high standards, and this aircraft will help us meet their requirements by delivering unrivaled performance that complements our excellence in customer service,” Al Baker added.

Gulfstream introduced the G700 on Monday as the industry’s new flagship. It boasts business aviation’s largest cabin and can fly farther faster than any competitor in the business-jet industry. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the G700 can fly 7,500 nautical miles/13,890 kilometers at Mach 0.85 or 6,400 nm/11,853 km at Mach 0.90. It features the Gulfstream Symmetry Flight DeckTM with active control sidesticks and the most extensive use of touch-screen technology in the industry.

The G700 cabin is also unparalleled, offering an extra-large ultragalley with lounge or crew compartment, up to five living areas and a large, bespoke master bedroom with en suite master bath. The aircraft also features an all-new, Gulfstream-developed revolutionary circadian lighting system that can recreate sunrise and sunset across time zones. With 20 panoramic windows and the Gulfstream cabin environment of 100 percent fresh air, low cabin altitude and whisper-quiet sound levels, the G700 promotes in-flight wellness and greatly reduces the physical impact of traveling halfway around the world nonstop.

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, designs, develops, manufactures, markets, services and supports the world’s most technologically advanced business-jet aircraft. Gulfstream has produced more than 2,800 aircraft for customers around the world since 1958.

To meet the diverse transportation needs of the future, Gulfstream offers a comprehensive fleet of aircraft, comprising the Gulfstream G280TM, the Gulfstream G550TM, the Gulfstream G500TM, the Gulfstream G600TM, the Gulfstream G650TM, the Gulfstream G650ERTM and the Gulfstream G700TM.
