Iranian Air Force Deputy Commander for Coordination Brigadier General Mehdi Hadian said the Iranian Army’s Air Force has been supplied with Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with pin-point precision-striking missiles.
General Hadian said on Saturday that the Iranian Army Air Force gives importance to the use of drones in combat operation, as the UAVs can conduct hybrid warfare along with warplanes successfully and show remarkable performances, Fars News Agency (FNA) reported.
“The drone systems are able to gather information and be used to in combat operation in order to pave the ground for the combats of the fighter jets,” he noted.
“The Iranian Army’s Air Force makes use of drones equipped with smart and pinpoint weapons to annihilate distant targets,” he declared.
Nowadays, the air force utilizes the drone system as an undisputed might, Hadian added.
The different sorts of drones with various capabilities help protect the sky of Iran, he argued.
Back in late May, Iran showed off an underground drone base where a range of advanced drones were housed and operated for potential combat and other missions.
During his visit, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Baqeri underscored that the pilotless aircraft have enhanced Iran’s deterrence power.
He underlined the significance of drones in defending the country’s interests, and added that they have found a special place in different defensive, offensive, land, sea, air and air defense areas. .
Noting that deterrence is not possible with old methods and equipment and requires new methods, Major General Baqeri said that “the drones that we saw today can play such a role”.
