Supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 through cooperation is the key focus of MBDA’s participation at the World Defence Show 2024.
The company has a long-standing relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as witnessed by the recent Memorandum of Understanding announced by SAMI (Saudi Arabian Military Industries) in March 2022 which paves the way for continued cooperation in the near future with the European Defence company.
MBDA is indeed a unique multi-national European group, a world-leader in the field of complex weapon systems, playing a key role in keeping nations safe. The company strongly believes in the power of cooperation, which is the cornerstone of its business, along with innovation, and represents the only European group capable of designing and manufacturing complex weapons to meet the full range of current and future operational requirements of the three armed forces (land, sea and air).
At WDS, MBDA is showcasing the extensive range of its state of the art systems in support of air, land and naval defence.
MBDA is at the forefront of air defence technologies: from the very short-range capability of the Mistral family, stepping through to medium air defence represented here by the CAMM family, and up to the newly evolved Aster B1 displayed on show, the company reveals its capability to cover all layers of air defence.
A vanguard innovation is the MBDA Sky Warden system, able to manage the full C-UAS kill chain from detection to neutralisation. Designed to operate both as an integrated component in a layered air defence architecture, or in a standalone configuration. Sky Warden is a modular, scalable and evolvable system able to match specific complex operational scenarios.
Meteor the world’s most capable Beyond Visual Range Air to Air Missile, is one of the best examples of MBDA’s spirit of cooperation and is revolutionising 21st century air-to-air combat. It is already integrated on the Eurofighter, Rafale and Gripen and it is currently undergoing integration onto the F-35 fighter.
Together with Meteor on the MBDA stand (F12.1) at WDS, Storm Shadow and Spear are also featured complementing the air systems on show.
The naval domain is well represented by Exocet MM40 B3C and Sea Venom, while VL Mica NG is displayed at the SAMI booth together with Mistral and CAMM; while land systems on show include Brimstone and the new Akeron MP. Akeron the only 5th generation combat proven missile in service, is also presented on the stand. It has been operationally tested and proven in extreme climates (desert and sub-arctic conditions). The system’s design includes the growth potential necessary for future modern land combat systems.
MBDA provides the complete solution to support local growth and development through industrial cooperation and partnership.
