Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces HE Staff Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit attended the opening of the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition in South Africa on Thursday.

The opening was attended by Ambassador of Qatar to South Africa HE Mubarak bin Nasser Al Khalifa and several Senior Qatar Armed Forces Officers, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

On the sidelines of the opening of the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition, President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa met with Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces HE Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit on the sidelines of the opening of the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition on Thursday.

The Chief of Staff also met with Chief of South African National Defense Force (SANDF) General Rudzani Maphwanya.

They discussed several topics of common interest and bilateral military cooperation and ways to boost them.

Present at the meeting were Ambassador of Qatar to South Africa HE Mubarak bin Nasser Al Khalifa and Senior Qatar Armed Forces Officers.

The Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD2024) Expo took place on 18-22 September. AAD is Africa’s only aerospace and defence expo that combines both a trade exhibition and an air show.

Held biennially in the City of Tshwane - South Africa’s administrative capital, the AAD Expo is one of South Africa’s largest contributors to the country’s GDP in show years, and is regarded as a national asset.
