The Iranian Army Ground Force integrated an array of new military equipment, such as tactical vehicles, drones, and audio surveillance systems, into its arsenal.
This domestically produced gear includes super heavy tank transporters, tactical vehicles, and state-of-the-art audio surveillance technology, Fars News Agency (FNA) reported.
The equipment was officially handed over during a ceremony in Tehran on Thursday, attended by key military figures like Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, Deputy Chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination, Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari, Commander of the Iranian Army's Ground Force, and Brigadier General Nozar Ne’mati, the Deputy Commander, along with other senior officials.
Among the newly added assets are semi-heavy, heavy, and super heavy military vehicles, strategic tank transporters, and armored vehicles across four distinct categories. The super heavy vehicles significantly boost the Ground Force’s mobility, a vital factor in enhancing its military strength.
On the same day, the Force also welcomed tactical vehicles, a variety of drones, and cutting-edge audio surveillance tools.
For its part, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy also received on Thursday a new warship in the Southern Iranian province of Hormozgan.
The domestically-developed warship has been named after Raees Ali Delvari, a national hero who organized popular resistance against British soldiers after the invasion of Iran in 1915.
The new military vessel joined the IRGC’s naval fleet in a ceremony in the Southern port city of Bandar Abbas, attended by IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami.
In an address to the event, Major General Salami praised the IRGC Naval Forces for enhancing their capacities.
He said the IRGC’s plans for the development of air defense capabilities in the sea have now materialized.
The IRGC Forces have acquired extensive air defense capabilities at sea to counter threats, the General stated. He added that the IRGC’s naval missiles outperform their nominal range, because they are fired from the missile-launching speed boats that can travel at a speed of 110 knots.
In remarks at the event, IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri also stated that the warship can carry three missile-launching vessels and a helicopter on board and could be furnished with missiles with a range of 750 kilometers.
The Raees Ali Delvari warship is currently armed with missiles with a range of 300 km developed by the Iranian Defense Ministry, he added, noting that the warship can cruise at a speed of 32 knots.
Equipped with a fire control system, the warship can sail for 5,000 kilometers, the commander continued.
The IRGC Navy also showcased a number of speed boats armed with missile launchers.
The speed boats, sailing with the breakneck velocity of 110 knots (203 km/h), can fire anti-destroyer cruise missiles.
