Chairman of the Jordanian Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Huneiti, received a high-level Emirati military delegation on Wednesday, led by Major General Salem Jumaa Al Kaabi (photo), to discuss strengthening bilateral military cooperation.

The meeting focused on enhancing defense and security ties between Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, with particular emphasis on exchanging expertise in training and operational readiness. The two sides also discussed regional security developments and common challenges.

Huneiti underscored the deep-rooted military relationship between the two countries, reflecting the shared visions of their leadership. He praised the close cooperation between the Jordanian and Emirati Armed Forces, which contributes to increased regional stability and joint preparedness.

Al Kaabi commended the Jordan Armed Forces for their vital role in maintaining regional peace and security. He affirmed the UAE’s commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with Jordan in various military and defence domains.

The meeting was attended by senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces and the UAE Military Attaché in Amman, Petra news agency reported.

The meeting, attended by Senior Officers from the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), addressed ongoing defence collaboration between Jordan and the United States, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Discussions focused on key developments in the Middle East, Jordan’s counterterrorism efforts, and the role of the JAF in safeguarding national and regional security. Both sides exchanged views on shared security challenges and future areas of collaboration.

The Jordanian Army Chief highlighted the strength of the strategic partnership between the Jordanian and U.S. militaries, commending the United States for its ongoing support in enhancing the operational, defence, and technological capabilities of the JAF.

The U.S. delegation praised Jordan’s pivotal role in promoting regional stability and emphasized the importance of continued military cooperation in addressing common security threats. They also expressed appreciation for the professionalism and contributions of the JAF across various domains.

The visit is part of broader efforts to reinforce bilateral military ties and align strategic interests between the two countries.
