Arabian World Events is proud to present Naval Power Egypt, the only event of its kind in the region, organised with the full support of both the Egyptian Naval Forces and the Egyptian Ministry of Defence.
Co-located with EDEX (4-7 December) and featuring an international conference (03 December) that will bring together senior flag officers, Naval Power Egypt is a fully integrated and future-focused maritime defence and security event, set to showcase the unique requirements of naval forces in the Middle East and North Africa.
Through its ambitious efforts, the Egyptian Navy is leading the way, representing a driving force, that in recent years has invested heavily in its maritime capabilities. Cutting edge surface vessels, aircraft and submarines are now operational, with a number of large-scale modernisation projects planned for the near future.
This is because Egypt’s role to play in promoting and enforcing regional maritime security is critical, recently having taken over command of the 34-nation partnership known as Combined Task Force 153. The role of the task force is to ensure security in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb and Gulf of Aden, this combined with its geographical position makes Egypt the ideal location for key-stakeholders to meet and discuss shared challenges and opportunities, in what is a dynamic and strategically important area of maritime operations.
With this in mind, the Naval Power Conference will bring together senior flag officers from the relevant partner nations, program managers responsible for modernisation, innovative technology suppliers from industry and thought-leaders, to collectively examine the most pressing needs of Naval Forces in the MENA region.
The Conference will explore and address the following themes:
- Strategic updates from leading naval forces
- Threat landscape, regional challenges and opportunities
- Promoting co-operation and interoperability amongst partners
- Shipbuilding, capacity building and maritime production
- Increasing maritime situational awareness and information sharing
- Naval digitalisation, autonomy and smart systems
