L3Harris Technologies announced a partnership with Rochester Institute of Technology Certified to develop training curriculum for prospective advanced-manufacturing employees.
Developing the curriculum ahead of the Fall 2023 semester, the L3Harris and RIT Certified program will create development frameworks and acquisition assessments for advanced manufacturing technician positions.
“The need for skilled advanced manufacturing technicians has never been higher,” said Renee Swan, Vice President, Human Resources, L3Harris.
“Our partnership with RIT Certified will empower people with the tools to join a fulfilling career field with advancement opportunities, while also providing a new pipeline of skilled professionals to our industry,” she added.
The program, provided under a New York State Pay for Performance Operating Grant, merges workforce development, professional training and consistent assessment strategies to improve economic sustainability and mobility for individuals and employers. It also enables employers to support employees from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds and empower them to embark on a new career journey with the skills needed to succeed.
