ATK at Paris Air Show
16.06.2011 Europe
ATK will participate as an exhibitor at the 2011 Paris Air Show and will highlight a variety of capabilities and programs at the show which will be held at Le Bourget Airport from 20-26 June 2011.
"International cooperation among allies and industry is vital to global security," said ATK President and Chief Executive Officer Mark DeYoung. "The international market, particularly through the partnerships ATK enjoys in Europe, is an important component of ATK's strategy for the future. ATK is well positioned for international growth and the company offers significant systems and capabilities to the United States and its allies."
The Paris Air Show provides ATK an opportunity to highlight its growing capabilities in several business areas, including commercial and military aerospace structures manufacturing. ATK is a major provider of large composite structures for the Airbus A350, an established supplier of composite structures for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, and provider of composite fan cases and fan case sections for the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB and GEnx engines. These contracts build on ATK's decades of experience in large-scale composite manufacturing and expand ATK's role as a leading supplier of commercial aircraft composite structures and engine components.
The Paris Air Show will also provide potential customers the opportunity to obtain information on ATK's light gunship platform, which integrates intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) sensors, fire control equipment, air-to-ground missiles and rockets, as well as the LW30mm link-fed gun system. The light gunship capability package is the latest addition to ATK's Special Mission Aircraft product portfolio, which provides affordable, responsive and advanced capabilities to customer-preferred platforms. ATK's expertise includes outfitting various aircraft -- including Cessna Caravans, Lockheed Martin C-130s, Bombardier Dash-8s, Hawker Beechcraft King Airs and others -- with integrated ISR capabilities, fire control equipment and air-to-ground capability for conducting responsive defense, counterinsurgency, and border surveillance and security missions.
ATK recently announced its new Hostile Fire Indicator capability upgrade for the AAR-47 Missile Warning System. ATK is the first company to deliver this key capability as part of a proven missile warning system. The company continues to leverage its years of experience to design, develop, and produce aircraft survivability equipment, such as the AAR-47 Missile Warning System to meet the urgent operational requirements of the warfighter.
ATK will highlight the focusing of the company's unique and longstanding expertise in space exploration to serve NASA and commercial space launch needs. While ATK's four-segment Reusable Solid Rocket Motors continue to support the launch of the space shuttle as the program nears retirement, ATK is furthering the development of its upgraded five-segment solid rocket motor, which is well-suited for both commercial launch and NASA heavy lift missions. In addition, ATK is upgrading its Castor 30 motor to support commercial resupply missions to the International Space Station.
ATK will display the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM), which provides the warfighter with the latest and most advanced weapon system for engaging and destroying enemy air defenses and time-critical mobile targets. The AARGM system is a cooperative U.S. and Italian acquisition program, with the U.S. Navy as the executive agent.
