At the recent Eurosatory Exhibition (Paris, 11-15 June 2012), Navantia and Expal have received from BAE Systems the presidency of ELDIG (European Land Defense Industrial Group), which belongs to the Commission of Defense and Security of the AsD (Aerospace and Defense European Association), formed by countries such as Germany, France, Italy and United Kingdom.

Navantia will preside ELDIG during the first year, with Alfredo Gordo as the President, and Expal will succeed Navantia the following year, with Manuel García Sañudo as the President.

ELDIG represents the interest of the industries related to Army programs and its target is to create a forum to foster a joint vision of the industry on the policies and practices that affect the technological basis of the European industry.
