Textron Systems Electronic Systems, a Textron Inc. business, announced the expansion of its commercial instrument line, delivering more advanced products and solutions to customers across the globe.
While examining opportunities that will broaden its commercial presence in the market, Textron Systems Electronic Systems is increasing the number of formats available for its high performance radio frequency (RF) devices. The latest format is a network-enabled form factor, which will be submitted for the LAN eXtensions for Instrumentation (LXI) certification. This joins the family of existing RF equipment formats, VersaModule Eurocard (VME) and VME bus eXtension for Instrumentation (VXI).
The new format RF source and a measurement analysis system will be featured at AUTOTESTCON 2015 from November 2-5, 2015 in National Harbor, Maryland.
This new format has a thin profile (1U, or 1.75” inches high), freeing up valuable rack space. It fits standard commercial cabinets and functions as a standalone unit. Both commercial and military customers can integrate Textron Systems Electronic Systems’ instruments into existing and future designs of Automated Test Equipment.
“Gaining additional rack space and introducing user field repairability, this RF source delivers high reliability and extreme fidelity. These are just two benefits of new innovation that Textron Systems Electronic Systems uses to support long-term programs in the naval, air force, commercial aerospace and space sectors,” said Textron Systems Electronic Systems Senior Vice President and General Manager Steve Mensh.
Textron Systems’ dramatic expansion of commercial catalogue offerings for the automatic test equipment market supports the mission readiness of commercial and military platforms around the world. In continuing to deliver cutting-edge technology, Textron Systems Electronic Systems offers an online catalogue of its commercial instruments, which incorporate robust built-in tests and are field repairable with consumer replaceable components.
