Roketsan, Türkiye’s leading company in rocket, missile, and munition technologies  took its place at IDEF 2025, the International Defense Industry Fair held in Istanbul this past month (22-27 July), with dozens of cutting-edge defense systems.

IDEF 2025 (International Defense Industry Fair) hosted by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Defence, supported by the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Secretariat of Defence Industries, under the management and responsibility of Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, brought together the leading players of Türkiye’s and the global defense industries.

Roketsan CEO İkinci said “We will continue to research, develop, and produce for a fully independent Türkiye. Roketsan has established itself as a global brand in rocket, missile, and munition technologies. Through intensive R&D efforts, we are pioneering new technologies while strengthening the deterrence and operational capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces.”

“The rising military conflicts and security crises in our region in recent years have once again highlighted the critical importance of advancing Türkiye’s defense capabilities. In response to these threats, Roketsan and its Turkish partners are building the country's ‘Steel Dome’ with advanced air defense systems, safeguarding our national airspace under a comprehensive security shield,” he noted.

“From precision-guided munitions for UAVs to anti-tank missiles, air defense missiles to cruise missiles, naval systems to artillery solutions, our portfolio continues to expand and be integrated into the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces. With each of these technologies, we remain committed to further strengthening our nation’s defense,” İkinci added.

Below are the systems introduced by Roketsan for the first time at IDEF 2025 and their key features:

  • AKATA Encapsulated Atmaca: AKATA is the submarine-launched version of the ATMACA Anti-Ship Missile, which is already in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces. With AKATA, Türkiye joined the ranks of the few nations possessing the capability to launch guided missiles from beneath the surface. Equipped with advanced technology, AKATA has a range exceeding 250 kilometers and features a high-explosive, blast-fragmentation warhead, significantly enhancing the defense of the Blue Homeland.
  • GÖKBORA Beyond Visual Range Air-To-Air Missiles: Designed for use on both manned and unmanned fighter aircraft platforms, GÖKBORA is poised to play a decisive role against enemy aerial threats. With its advanced guidance system and a range exceeding 100 nautical miles, GÖKBORA is set to become one of the primary strike assets of the air force, capable of countering a wide spectrum of airborne threats.
  • TAYFUN BLOCK-4 Hypersonic Missile: The BLOCK-4 Hypersonic version of the TAYFUN Missile, which holds the title of Türkiye's longest-range ballistic missile produced with national capabilities, was showcased for the first time at IDEF’25. With its long range, this new variant sets a new benchmark in the Turkish defense industry. Weighing over seven tons and equipped with a high-explosive, blast-fragmentation warhead, TAYFUN BLOCK-4 is designed to neutralize strategic targets such as air defense systems, command and control centers, military hangars, and other critical military infrastructure from long distances with high precision.
  • EREN High Speed Multi-Purpose Loitering Munition: EREN is a high-speed, multi-platform loitering munition that can be launched from UAVs, helicopters, land vehicles, naval platforms, and ground-based systems. It is capable of engaging low-speed aerial targets, armored and unarmored ground assets, as well as personnel. With advanced guidance capability, an extended endurance in the air, and a range exceeding 100 kilometers, EREN is designed to fill a critical operational gap in modern combat scenarios.
  • 300 ER: Designed for integration with jet aircraft and UAV platforms, the 300 ER is an air-launched ballistic missile capable of reaching targets up to 500 kilometers away, depending on the release altitude and speed. This system enables strategic target engagement without exposing the launch platform to enemy air defense systems. The 300 ER can be equipped with multiple guidance options and warhead types depending on mission requirements. Its solid-fuel propulsion ensures high-speed, high-precision impact within a short response time.
  • ŞİMŞEK-2 Space Launch Vehicle: Following the development of the ŞİMŞEK-1 Satellite Launch Vehicle, which is scheduled for its first test flight in 2027, Roketsan is introducing ŞİMŞEK-2 at IDEF 2025. Designed to place satellites weighing up to 1,500 kilograms into sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 700+ kilometers, ŞİMŞEK-2 marks a significant step forward in Türkiye’s space ambitions and aims to elevate the country's presence in the global space arena.

Other systems featured at Roketsan’s booth included UAV munitions, precision‑guided munitions; anti‑tank missile systems; cruise missile systems; air defense systems; submarine-launched systems; artillery systems; mini missile system; ballistic protection systems and weapon systems:
