Technology from Goodrich Corporation, a global supplier of systems and services to aerospace and defense markets, was demonstrated by the British Army at the first Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS).
The demonstration of Goodrich's ISR Systems business included intelligence exploitation system as well as its new stabilized camera gimbal integrated onto a developmental vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
At the British Army demonstration area, visitors watched soldiers gather full motion video through the integrated stabilized Tase LT gimbal provided by Goodrich's cloud cap technology team and view it in near real-time on the intelligence exploitation system, which allows dissemination to multiple sources.
The stabilised camera within the gimbal is remotely controlled by the British Army team via a wireless hand controller.
The full motion video captured was transmitted, via WiFi, directly to the exploitation system allowing the audience to see, almost immediately, what can be seen from the camera within AESIR's VTOL UAV.
