Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa (photo) conducted a field inspection visit to a BDF unit, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
The Commander-in-Chief was initially briefed on the unit's latest developments and thoroughly checked its latest training and preparation programs as well as its military preparedness and readiness posture.
He said the BDF will continue harnessing all capabilities to supply all of its battalions and units with the latest modern weaponry, in compliance with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander.
He praised the role and good results accomplished by all BDF battalions and units in all assigned missions and duties, affirming that through modernization and development, the BDF will continue to boost its battalions and units and supply them with all technological systems that contribute in the performance of their assigned duties in defending the nation and its accomplishments.
Furthermore, Field Marshal Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa received at the Royal Bahrain Naval Force (RBNF) the Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command and Commander of the Fifth Fleet Vice Admiral Kevin M. Donegan.
The Commander-in-Chief reviewed with Vice Admiral Donegan the existing Bahraini-US friendship and cooperation relations, and ways to bolster them in all fields, especially regarding joint military coordination and defense cooperation.
They also discussed issued of mutual concern.
BDF Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant-General Dheyab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi and a number of senior BDF officers attended the meeting.
