His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, received Monday the Commander of the US Naval Forces Central Command, Commander of the United States Fifth Fleet, and Commander of Combined Maritime Forces, Vice Admiral Charles B. Cooper II (photo), at Gudaibiya Palace.

His Royal Highness highlighted the longstanding ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, particularly within military and defence.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad emphasised the importance of furthering international efforts to maintain regional and international safety and stability.

Regional and international issues of common interest were also reviewed, as well as joint efforts to further Bahrain-US cooperation to meet common goals, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.

The Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, also attended the meeting.

For his part, Bahrain Defense Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa also received Vice-Admiral Charles Bradford Cooper the Commander of United States Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT), and the United States Fifth Fleet (C5F) Commander.

BDF Commander-in-Chief praised the Bahrain-US relations at all levels, especially in the military field.

The meeting was attended by Defense Affairs Minister Lieutenant General Abdullah bin Hassan Al Nuaimi, and BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Theyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi.

In another development, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister met Sunday with the newly appointed Acting Commander of the Royal Medical Services, Brigadier General Doctor Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of further developing and strengthening the healthcare system to achieve the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.

His Royal Highness noted the Kingdom's commitment to improve the efficiency of healthcare services offered to citizens.

His Royal Highness commended the Royal Medical Services, including medical and administrative staff, for their contribution to providing quality health services.

For his part, Brigadier General Doctor Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for his ongoing commitment to provide the highest quality of healthcare services to Bahraini citizens and residents.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Minister of Finance and National Economy, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, also attended the meeting.
