General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense and Military Production, met with a number of Commanders and Officers of the Armed Forces at the Central Military Zone Headquarters, in the presence of Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Commanders of the main branches, and a number of Senior Commanders of the Armed Forces.
The meeting was held last week in the context of the ongoing monitoring of the work system within the Armed Forces and discussing methods of developing the Armed Forces’ performance and capabilities, to enable it to fulfill its national tasks of protecting the homeland and safeguarding its sanctities, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The meeting included a presentation by a number of Commanders of the Armed Forces, which addressed a number of topics related to the efforts of the Armed Forces in protecting Egyptian national security, as well as working system within the Armed Forces and procedures of developing and modernizing them.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces honored a number of Commanders and Officers in recognition of their excellence in performing the assigned tasks.
General Mohamed Zaki delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Mr. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. He also expressed his pride in the effort made by the personnel of the Armed Forces to carry out all the assigned tasks and responsibilities to the fullest extent.
He further stressed that the Armed Forces are committed to building its human capabilities and developing its combat and technical capabilities in all specializations to enable it to fulfill its missions in defending the homeland, as well as its supporting role in the development and construction of the modern Egyptian state.
The Commander-in-Chief pointed out the necessity of maintaining the highest level of efficiency and high combat readiness for the units and formations, to improve the skill and physical level of the combatant through continuous training and high morale, and to maintain weapons, equipment and vehicles so that the Armed Forces remain at the highest levels of alertness and readiness to carry out any assigned task under various circumstances.
In another development, Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, observed the Pre-Combat Inspection (PCI) for one of the artillery units in the Central Military Zone, to determine its readiness to carry out the entrusted tasks with efficiency and competence.
The Inspection began with a presentation of the Pre-Combat Inspection Report, which included the technical and administrative condition of the unit after it was developed and upgraded to support its ability to be at the highest levels of combat readiness. This was followed by a tour of the assembled forces by the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces to ensure their readiness.
Lieutenant General Osama Askar also discussed with a number of Commanders and Officers the manner in which they carry out their various combat missions and how to deal with potential emergencies, praising the understanding of all elements participating in the inspection of their assigned tasks, which achieves the integrated combat system that relies on the professional fighter and advanced weapons and equipment.
