Egyptian, British Naval Forces Conduct “Alexandria Defender” Joint Maritime Training

As part of the ongoing joint training plan implemented by the Armed Forces with friendly countries to bolster military cooperation prospects and exchange training expertise according to the latest combat systems, the Egyptian and British Naval Forces executed the joint maritime training “Alexandria Defender” which lasted for several days at the Alexandria Naval Base.

The exercise phases included the implementation of various maritime activities such as practicing the right of visit and inspection for suspected ships, countering atypical threats, live ammunition shooting exercises, as well as training on first aid.

These phases demonstrated the readiness and professionalism of the participating personnel in carrying out their assigned tasks, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

The conclusion of the exercise activities was attended by Vice Admiral Ashraf Ibrahim Atwa, the Commander of the Egyptian Naval Forces, the British Ambassador, and the British Defense Attaché to the Arab Republic of Egypt, together with a number of Commanders from the Egyptian Armed Forces.
