General Mohamed Zaki, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, met Saturday with General Thierry Burkhard, Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces, and his accompanying delegation, during their official visit to Egypt that lasted several days.
The meeting discussed military cooperation relations between the two friendly countries in various fields, as well as the repercussions of the current situation and its impact on security and stability in the Middle East, the Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Lieutenant General Osama Askar, Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces, also received the Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces, where an official reception ceremony was held for him at the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, and the national anthems of both countries were played by the Military Band.
The Chief-of-Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces emphasized the depth of the partnership and bilateral cooperation relations and the coordination of efforts to achieve common interests and support the prospects for military cooperation and exchange of expertise between the Armed Forces of both sides.
For his part, the Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces expressed his appreciation for the depth of the ties and relations that unite the two friendly countries and the shared visions regarding various issues and topics in all military fields.
