The dangerous developments unfolding in Iraq, Syria and Libya topped talks between King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia and Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sisi Saturday.

The Saudi Monarch, during his first visit to Cairo since the 2011 uprising, also reiterated his country's support for Egypt to regain its pivotal role in championing Arab causes.

King Abdullah, who was on his way home from Morocco, held talks with President Al Sisi aboard the Royal plane at Cairo International Airport.

The two leaders discussed the current situation in the region and ways of bolstering Arab solidarity to ward off challenges and confront the scourge of terror and confront extremist and fanatical groups.

King Abdullah stressed the importance of joint coordination to confront regional challenges.

President Al Sisi paid tribute to the Saudi Monarch for his call to convene an international donor conference. He also hailed the Saudi stance in support of Egypt and its free-willed people since the June 30 revolution.
