Saudi Arabia’s Chief of General Staff Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili (photo) met in Riyadh Monday with Commander of the Iraqi Marine Forces Lieutenant-General Ahmad bin Jassem Al-Zayed.
During the meeting, they reviewed cooperation exchanges between the two sides as well as the latest regional developments, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The meeting was attended by Commander of the Marine Forces Lieutenant-General Fahd Al-Ghfaili and several high-ranking officers of the Armed Forces.
On the Iraqi side, Deputy Commander of the Iraqi Marine Forces Major-General A. Kadhem Al-Khuzai and other high-ranking officers were also present.
In another development, Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Interior of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) members states held an extraordinary meeting Monday, via video technology, chaired by Dr. Hisham bin Abdul Rahman Al-Falih, Undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Interior (the rotatory President State), with the participation of the Assistant Secretary for Security Affairs Major General Hazza bin Mubarak Al-Hajri.
The participants discussed several topics on the agenda, which contribute to strengthening the process of joint Gulf security cooperation in the GCC area, praising the success of the tactical exercise (Arab Gulf Security 3) and the readiness of the joint security forces of the GCC states, which was held in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
