Saudi Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs Eng. Khalil Ibn Salamah visited the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) on Thursday.
During the visit, he was briefed on the latest military manufacturing technologies at its industrial facilities and the most prominent developed and under-development military products. He inspected the maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities of these facilities.
Eng. Salamah visited SAMI facilities including Alsalam Aerospace Industries, SAMI Technology Headquarters, SAMI Advanced Electronics Company (SAMI-AEC), and SAMI Composites LLC, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The facilities contribute to localizing the defense industries in the Kingdom and enhancing its capabilities in the military manufacturing sector.
SAMI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF). Launched in May 2017 and working under the directives outlined in the Saudi Vision 2030. Aiming to be among the top 25 defense companies in the world by 2030, SAMI is expected to play a key role in localizing 50% of Saudi Arabia’s total government defense spending.
SAMI’s vision is to develop world-class military products and services as well as achieving self-sufficiency in Saudi defense industries through the cutting-edge technologies and the best national talents.
